Remodeled mountain cabin kitchen two years ago with all new Kitchenaide appliances. Down draft range replaced older Jenn-Aire downdraft. Had contractor install. New range has modified downdraft design and floor exit. Had to re-cut hole. Fortunately no joist in the way. We were able to have filler for country behind range cut from scrap. Accessory filler available from manufacturer. Older range was 30 amps. Had upgrade to 40 amps. Fortunately breaker panel was on other side of wall. Hired electrician to rewire. Fortunately our Best Buy sales associate had the same range, and she did a great job of informing us of some of the install accessories needed. I tend to want to be informed about how things work. So I did know that the downdraft route would need to be altered slightly. Minor adapters were needed to change 6” to 5 inch. Didn’t expect amperage update though. My recommendations: read all reviews. The more featured the appliance - expect to need work abouts. Hope this helps someone.

We went with this downdraft kitchen aid because of the brand and quality expectations we had from it. During the first 12 months warranty, one of the burners and switches stopped working - this was covered under the warranty. 2 months after the warranty expired, another burner and 2 switches stopped working but this time no warranty. Would not buy it again and would not recommend to anyone.

Replaced an old Jennair with this new Kitchenaid cooktop a few weeks ago and am very pleased. It heats quickly and consistently. Love the two dual sized burners. And - it looks nice too!

It works just great. Works so well, I haven't use the induction burner since I got cooktop.....the downdraft work really great.
