Electrolux Gas Front Load Dryer with IQ-Touch Controls

I have owned this washer and dryer for many years. I am stuck with it. I bought it after I saw many celebrity commercials (Kelly Ripa). It worked good at first. It began melting my clothes on the back exhaust opening. I had 2 repairs under warranty because the first attempt did not work. The result and kit that was installed did prevent my clothes from being scorched, but it now took 2 dryer cycles to dry a load. This is both a waste of money, energy, and time. Also, I have the matching pedestals that have very poorly designed latches that fail within 3 years (ready for my 4th replacement). They are very cheap thin plastic catches and a replacement costs minimum $30. The drawers are meant to store useful items. They drawer is under strong spring pressure and people are going to put heavy bottles of detergent in them, so they should be more heavy duty. I don't fault the Customer Service, as they have tried to resolve the problems. It is an example of a couple of poor engineered elements (heating/exhaust system & pedestal latch). I normally don't write reviews, but I am an engineer at a fortune 500 company and would not be satisfied with providing product like this.

I purchaced this dryer last spring and after installing it I could not believe how fast it dryed my clothes. Its quiet and puts my old dryer to shame. I love all the different settings and features. I wasn't to impressed with the color when it was at the store but after getting in home in better lighting I love the blue color, it makes my laundry room look so much better than just having white appliances. Love this dryer so much I got rid of my fairly new washer and replaced it with the matching Electrolux washer and so far I'm just as impressed with the new washer too.. My only regret is that I didn't buy these appliances sooner!

I purchased this dryer a month ago and it stopped drying after just 20 uses. It was drying less and less. Assuming I was overloading the dryer, or the gas valve wasn't fully engaged or something but I soon realized that even three items in this large capacity dryer would not dry unless I ran the dryer for 4 hours or more. This is the worst product I've ever bought. I was initially super excited in purchasing this dryer after seeing the commercials. Do not buy this item. Thank God I bought an extended warranty.
