Maytag EcoConserve® Top-Freezer Refrigerator with Strongbox Door Bins

I am glad I bought this. It stays cool perfectly. The ice maker makes ice really fast. Great refrigerator!!

I purchased this Maytag refrigerator (in black) in January 2014.Pros: Good price for the features, nice smooth finish, stylish handles, reversible door swing, ice maker factory installed, adjustable door shelves, easy to clean, ample freezer room, drawers are easy to open/close, tilt out shelf in the door is handy for things like juice boxes. The unit is fairly quiet, even when making ice. It is attractive and great for fitting into awkward sized spaces.Cons: ice maker hoses required some "rigging" to stay put - they kept disconnecting at the top/back of the fridge, causing water to spray everywhere each time the ice maker kicked on. After taping them securely all over the lines, they seem to work fine. The delivery person had a terrible time changing the swing of the door - this left several scratches on the unit, as Maytag didn't make this an easy process -having to glue on their logo, screw hiding "dots", and other items. Maytag also delivers the item with protective plastic film. However, it's tucked into metal seams on the fridge itself, making it impossible to pull out every tiny piece of plastic, which has left me with visible plastic pieces sticking out of the seams. Seems that a stick on film would have worked much better. There is a small shelf that is not adjustable located above the drawers. It creates a very awkward space - if you use it at all, you forget that you put anything on that shelf, as the items aren't visible when you place things in front of the shelf. If you don't use it, you have wasted space and can't put items on the main shelf pushed all the way to the back of the fridge. The door design isn't a breeze to ensure it's closed - so be diligent about making sure the door is pushed all the way shut and sealed! The kick plate on the front of the unit helps keep food/crumbs from getting under the fridge, but it falls off frequently.
